Healthy Friendships is a mental health charity for adults, the mission of which is to “encourage people who experience emotional distress to live happier, healthier and more fulfilled lives” by encouraging and facilitating social interaction, healthy emotional lives, exercise and healthy diet.
We currently have over 370 members between the ages of 19 and 101 years.
To raise funds for the organisation we have a shop in Newtown town centre called “Whatever Next...?” which we aim to run ourselves and strongly believe that all monies raised in the shop should be spent on local people.
We always need donations of goods to sell such as clothing, shoes, handbags, toys, CD’s, DVD’s and bric-a-brac.
Volunteers are needed to help man the charity shop, to organise stock, steam, hang and price clothes and sort bric-a-brac. Volunteers can get involved in serving customers, making them welcome and answering queries, and using the till. No experience is necessary as full training will be given.
We would welcome contact by telephone or personal callers to the shop which is open Monday-Friday 10.00–4.00.
Volunteers willing to help out on Saturdays would be most welcome!
