Newtown Community Fund Success
Another round of the Newtown Community Fund has passed with the Council supporting local groups and projects with over £11,000 at the meeting of the Resources Committee on 17th October. That brings the total for the year to over £22,000 towards local projects in the town supported by Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council’s Community Fund Grant.
“A thriving community is not just about having things done for it, it’s also about helping people achieve things themselves.” Cllr. David Selby (Chair of Resources Committee)
“It is fantastic that we are able to support so many organisations and projects in the town. Since the grant was rebranded it has been a great success” Cllr. Richard Edwards (Mayor)
Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council support groups and projects within the town under the provisions of Section 137 of the Local Government Act 1972 and holds two rounds of funding with deadlines in April and September.
