Place Plan Evidence

A Guide To:
Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Place Plan – Supporting Evidence
Jan 2021

1. A “Library” Of Evidence For The Town
The preparation of the Place Plan involved a large programme of community consultation and evidence gathering, during 2019/20. Over 7,000 comments were received on a wide range of topics. Input was received from members of the public as well as 48 local organisations. Volunteers also went out into the town and collected information on specific topics.

As project lead, the Town Council is now building a “library” of Place Plan evidence documents, to be accessible to the general public and local organisations.

Further documents will be uploaded over the coming months. If you are looking for something specific that you do not see, please get in touch.

The evidence can be used, for example, to add weight to funding applications, where you may be required to show proof of the need for services and activities in the town. Please credit “Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Place Plan Supporting Evidence”.

2. Types Of Evidence
Two types of evidence were used to create the Place Plan:

i) New Evidence – Gathered as part of the Place Plan work in 2019/20. This includes community comments from the Place Plan events and public survey plus Place Plan volunteers collecting specific evidence relating to the topics, out in “the field” or town.

ii) Existing Evidence or Desk Research – publications and research previously produced by other people

Much of the Supporting Evidence shared on this website is New Evidence. All Existing Evidence or Desk Research sources are listed in each topic chapter of the main Place Plan document.

3. How The Evidence Is Presented
The evidence is arranged in folders by topic. There is also a Master Evidence List to assist.
