Profile

Born in Rotherham, moving to Newtown at the age of two. Attended Penygloddfa, Hafren Junior School, followed by Newtown High School up until the age of 14 when my family emigrated to Canada, where I completed my High School Education and Graduated with My High School Diploma with honours. We as a family then travelled to numerous other countries and I became involved in humanitarian aid in Africa. I have worked at Morrisons since I returned to Newtown 3 years ago, and have completed my access to higher Education with the NPTC group at the Newtown Campus.
I am interested in people and my local community and want to give back and improve the infrastructure and the lives of others.
We are currently facing economic problems of a kind not seen in this country for over 50 years, with massive inflation and an energy crisis, I want to help my constituents and will be available to help them wherever possible, it is my intention to hold regular surgeries to talk to my constituents and help with their issues and concerns. And to this end I look forward to meeting constituents so that we can work together to make a difference.

Attendance Record

Your Council’s decisions are made at meetings of the council or its committees.  Your Councillors have a duty to attend all meetings of the Council and meetings of the Committees of which they are members, unless an absence is approved by the meeting for a stated reason, for example a council duty elsewhere or ill-health.

Note that some councillors have been required to attend more meetings than others by reason, for example, of a shorter term of office or lesser number of committees to which elected, so the reader is advised to consider both the total number and the percentage when interpreting the attendance record.

There are no legal requirements for councillors to undertake training either before or after being elected.  However, this Council does require that all councillors undertake Code of Conduct training within six months of taking office and encourages all councillors to take advantage of training offered by organisations operating in the local council sector.
