To celebrate all that is great about our town, and to mark the publication of the “Our Town, Our Plan: The Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Place Plan”, the Town Council is launching an art competition, inviting local people to send in pictures showing “What I Love About Newtown”.
Your picture can show your favourite place to walk, play or meet friends or a favourite building or place to visit. Or maybe a picture of an inspirational person associated with Newtown. The brighter and more colourful, the better. You can draw, paint, create digital art or go bold with a 3D creation!
Prizes
Winners will receive a cash prize and be exhibited at the Oriel Davies art gallery. Winners and runners up will be published in a special feature in the County Times and all entries will be displayed in an online gallery.
There are 3 age categories:
Under 11s – winner prize £25
11-18 – winner prize £50
Over 18s – winner prize £75
“Our Town, Our Plan: The Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Place Plan 2021-2036” is a 15-year plan for the future of the town. It was put together with the involvement of 48 local organisations and based on over 7,000 comments and ideas from the community.
