Thursday the 30th of November saw the inaugural meeting of the Newtown Town Partnership. This initiative has been introduced as a means to address the complex issues faced by traders and community groups in our area and also to communicate and share local successes.

This first meeting, held at 23 Social in Broad Street, was well attended with representatives from fourteen Newtown businesses meeting with seven 3rd sector organisations and eight Newtown and Powys Councillors. Votes were taken to begin forming the committee and the group shared thoughts on what they love about living and working in Newtown along with suggestions about what they’d like to see improved. It was relaxed and positive and the next meeting will be held in January.
