Powys County Council and Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council would like to hear your thoughts on design and a name for your new bridge.
The bridge will be a new cycling and walking bridge which will cross the River Severn from Pool Road (near to Poundstretcher) to the riverside cycle path (part of National Cycle Route 81) on Canal Road.
Powys County Council and Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council are holding two drop in sessions in the town this month but if you can’t make it, we’d like to hear your views in the questions that follow here.
We are hoping to start construction in 2019 with a view to the bridge being in place – thanks to Welsh Government funding – in 2020
The drop in events are being held at:
- Glanhafren, High Street, Newtown – 1pm-4pm on Friday 14th December;
- The Waggon and Horses, Canal Road, Newtown – 4pm-7pm on Tuesday 18th December
Representatives of the two councils and GHD, the bridge designer, will be in attendance to answer people’s questions and hear their ideas for the new bridge.
