Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council welcome Rosie Molloy to represent the North Ward, which covers the area of Barnfield, Canal Road and Llanllwchaiarn. Rosie joins the council as one of the youngest members to be co-opted to Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town council.
In her statement of application Rosie expressed “I am really interested in the future of Newtown, with an added interest of our Town’s history. Representing the North ward where I live, with no intention of leaving the area, I would like to be part of our town’s progress and growth. I believe my opinions would be of valid contribution towards any decisions made regarding the future of Newtown”.
On the evening of co-option newly appointed Mayor of Newtown, Cllr Richard Williams welcomed Rosie onto the Council “From a young councillor to another, welcome. I’m sure you’ll provide us with lots of interesting debates and ideas”.
Cllr Rosie Molloy commented on joining the council “I appreciate the opportunity of being co-opted as one of the youngest Town Councillors for Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn, where I will be representing the North Ward. I have lived in this area most my life, attending a local primary school and college, along with being a member of various organisations. Over the years, I have gained voluntary work experiences as a Child Protection Officer for Newtown Musical Theatre Company, and Youth Leader for St John Ambulance. I was proud to be selected to represent Newtown as Carnival Queen in 2015. I believe that everyone’s voice should be heard. I look forward in seeing our Town’s future progress and grow”.
