Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council is giving local people the opportunity to influence how the town will develop over the next 10-15 years.  The “Place Plan” survey is running until 20th September with a chance to win a cash prize of £50.

“Place Plans” were recently introduced by the Welsh Government as a way of giving communities more influence over town planning decisions.  The survey follows the 4 “Place Plan” drop-in events that were held around the town earlier this year and gives people a further chance to give feedback on topics such as housing, green spaces, town centre accessibility, safety and shopping experience.

“People may remember that the Town Council consulted on its own 5 year plan last year, “ said Councillor Richard Edwards, who is leading on the project. “The “Place Plan” is different and has a broader influence. We are working with Powys County Council Planning Department for the “Place Plan” to be formally adopted as planning guidance.  This is our opportunity to tell the planning authority what Newtown wants.”

“The Town Council is also keen to support groups who have ideas to improve the town, so people can order tramadol online 2013 tell us about those in the survey. The information we collect from the survey is very valuable evidence that can be used to help attract investment into the town for new projects.”

English and Welsh versions of the survey can be found online at  www.newtown.org.uk/consultations

The Cash Prize Draw is open to over 16s only.  Paper copies of the survey are also available at the Town Council offices at The Cross, Broad Street (The Robert Owen Museum building).
