Following the recent resignation of Town Councillor Jackie Molloy-Davies, a casual vacancy has been declared in the office of Town Councillor for South Ward.
View/Download the formal NOTICE OF VACANCY here.
This is an opportunity to call for an election to the vacant office of town councillor.
Town Clerk, Ed Humphreys, adds “Your town council, as part of a representative democracy, is composed of the people the community elects to make decisions locally, on its behalf and in its best interests. If you have ideas to help make this community a better place to live, learn, work, or visit, and feel able to persuade others of their benefit over their cost, this is your opportunity. However, it’s important to recognise that this opportunity extends beyond simply calling for an election; it is an invitation to consider standing as a town councillor. This role offers the chance to actively contribute to your town’s well-being, to represent the diverse voices within your community, and to work collaboratively towards a brighter future for all”.
An election will be held if within 14 working days of publication of the declaration, a request in writing for an election is given to the Deputy Returning Officer by TEN electors for the electoral area.
A request should be sent by letter / post to:
Deputy Returning Officer
Powys County Council
County Hall
Llandrindod Wells

Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council would like to express its gratitude to Jackie for the time and effort she has given to the people of Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn community in her role as Town Councillor.

Yn dilyn ymddiswyddiad diweddar y Cynghorydd Tref Jackie Molloy-Davies, mae swydd wag wedi’i datgan yn swyddfa’r Cyngorydd Tref ar gyfer Ward y De.
Gweler/Lawrlwythwch y HYSBYSIAD SWYDD WAG ffurfiol yma
Mae hwn yn gyfle i alw am etholiad i’r swydd wag o gynghorydd tref.
Ysgrifennydd y Dref, Ed Humphreys, ychwanegodd “Mae cynghor eich tref, fel rhan o ddemocrasia cynrychiadol, yn cynnwys y bobl y mae’r gymuned yn eu hethol i wneud penderfyniadau’n lleol, ar ei rhan hi, ac er lles ei thrigolion. Os oes gennych syniadau i helpu i wneud y gymuned hon yn lle gwell i fyw, dysgu, gweithio, neu ymweld ag ef, ac os ydych yn teimlo’n gallu perswadio eraill o’u budd dros eu cost, dyma’ch cyfle. Fodd bynnag, mae’n bwysig cydnabod bod y cyfle hwn yn ymestyn y tu hwnt i alw am etholiad yn unig; mae’n wahoddiad i ystyried sefyll fel cynghorydd tref. Mae’r rôl hon yn cynnig cyfle i gyfrannu’n weithredol at lesiant eich tref, i gynrychioli’r llais amrywiol o fewn eich cymuned, ac i weithio’n gydweithredol tuag at ddyfodol disglair i bawb”.
Cynhelir etholiad os bydd yn 14 diwrnod gwaith o gyhoeddi’r datganiad, cais yn ysgrifenedig am etholiad yn cael ei roi i’r Dirprwy Swyddog Dychwelyd gan DENG o etholwyr ar gyfer yr ardal etholiadol.
Dylai cais gael ei anfon drwy lythyr / post at:

Hoffai Cyngor Tref y Drenewydd a Llanllwchaearn fynegi ei ddiolchgarwch i Jackie am yr amser a’r ymdrech y mae wedi’i roi i bobl Tref y Drenewydd a chymuned Llanllwchaearn yn ei rol fel Cynghorydd Tref.
