Town Councillors in Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn are asking residents to help set priorities for the Town Council’s work until 2023.

An online survey – also available on paper – asks people to comment on 9 broad headings from the outline plan.

Cllr Mike Jones said, “As a new councillor, I am pleased to work with the Strategy group on putting together a plan which will guide the work of the Council over 5 years.”

Cllr John Barker, Chair of the Strategy group, explained, “We started by looking at surveys of Newtown residents such as the one by the Newtown Unlimited group and also Aberystwyth University. From those, we drew out the main areas that Newtonians had indicated as priorities. Now we want to check that we are on the right lines, before we go on to the next stage of the plan.”

Cllr Sue Newham, Mayor of Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn, said, “We are asking everyone in Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn to show that they love their town by completing the on-line survey by Valentine’s Day. There are paper, large print and Welsh language surveys available from the Council offices. The link to the on-line survey is https://goo.gl/2wR39C”.
