The Town Council is inviting local community groups and organisations to apply for grants under the Community Fund scheme before the deadline of 30th April.

The grants are awarded twice a year in May and October and support groups which:

  • Carry out work in the community
  • Provide a long -term benefit to the community
  • Extend access and participation, increase skill and creativity, or generally improve the quality of life of people in their area

The Town Council has set a “Priority Theme” for the May round of grants. Applications are particularly welcomed for activities that benefit ages 5-25. A spokesperson said “the needs of this age group were highlighted as a strong theme when we carried out the public consultations for the town’s Place Plan. Groups do not have to apply for activities under the priority theme but those that do, will be given priority in this round.”

Further information and application forms are available from the Town Council Offices, Brisco House, Broad Street or can be downloaded from https://www.newtown.org.uk/pages/newtown-community-fund

The closing date is midnight on 30th April.
