Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council is looking for two Community Youth Representatives. The representatives will be the voice of young people, feeding back ideas, learning how the council works, participating in council meetings and helping to get young people more involved in the Council and the local community.
Representatives will also be able to experience the democratic process and gain increased confidence, additional understanding of both local and national matters, and contact with a wide range of people and organisations.
Cllr Richard Williams, who is leading the initiative for the council, is keen to promote the opportunity to young people in the town: “As the Town Council grows it is vital that the views of young people are heard when decisions are being made. The council is eager to work with young people and I am delighted to have been involved in the establishment of the scheme. As the youngest councillor, it will be fantastic to appoint two extra voices to support youth affairs and I am buy diazepam nz very much looking forward to working with our Community Youth Representatives in developing and growing youth engagement in Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn and the surrounding community.”
Representatives should be between the ages of 15 and 25 and suitable to represent the interests of young people who live, work and receive education in our area. Appointments will run from late March 2018 for a maximum of 2 years.
