Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council has accepted an invitation by the Welsh Government Review Panel to all Community and Town Councils (along with organisations) who have strong links within their communities to open their doors to their community members of all ages, to enable them to come along and have their say regarding the review and the future of the community and town council sector in Wales.
These ‘National Pop-In’ events will be taking place at the end of May – the town council one on Thursday 24th May from 4pm to 8pm in the Town Council Chamber.
The event at Newtown is fortunate to have a member of the Panel present who will be able to describe the Panel’s work so far and to outline some of the emerging findings.
This is a golden opportunity for you and others in the community to get involved in the review by inputting into the Panel’s work, and influence the conclusions it may reach on the future role of community and town councils. Younger members of the community are also invited to get involved.
The Panel is keen to reach as many people as possible, as its work may set the foundations for the work of community and town councils and how they support and leads their communities for many years to come.
