Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for young individuals to become active participants in local democracy. The Council is on the lookout for two dedicated Youth Representatives who will play a vital role in bringing the voices and perspectives of young people to the forefront of council discussions and decision-making processes.
This initiative aims to empower young people aged between 15 and 25 to actively participate in shaping the future of their community.
Responsibilities include:
· Gathering and relaying ideas and views from young people in the town.
· Promoting engagement among young people in Town Council activities and events.
· Active participation in meetings, discussions, and debates.
· Building connections with youth groups and organisations to facilitate communication with the Town Council.
· Learning about the workings of the Town Council and its role in local governance.
· Promoting the work of the Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council to young people.
· Becoming a “Youth Rep” is not only an opportunity to contribute to the community but also a chance to learn about local democracy and governance, which can greatly enhance one’s CV.

The deadline for submitting applications is 5pm, Friday, May 24th, 2024. Two Youth Representatives will be selected during the Council meeting on Monday, June 24th, 2024. Successful applicants will be contacted for further information and assistance in preparing for the meeting.

Mae Cyngor Tref y Drenewydd a Llanllwchaearn yn hynod gyffrous i gyhoeddi cyfle gwych i unigolion ifanc ymuno â democratiaeth leol. Mae’r Cyngor yn chwilio am ddau Gynrychiolydd Ieuenctid ymrwymedig a fydd yn chwarae rhan hanfodol wrth ddod â lleisiau a safbwyntiau pobl ifanc i flaenffordd trafodaethau’r cyngor a phrosesau gwneud penderfyniadau.
Mae’r fenter hon yn anelu at rymuso pobl ifanc rhwng 15 a 25 oed i gymryd rhan weithredol wrth lunio dyfodol eu cymuned.
Mae’r cyfrifoldebau yn cynnwys:
- Casglu a throsglwyddo syniadau a safbwyntiau gan bobl ifanc yn y dref.
- Hyrwyddo ymgysylltiad ymhlith pobl ifanc mewn gweithgareddau a digwyddiadau’r Cyngor Tref.
- Cyfranogiad gweithgar mewn cyfarfodydd, trafodaethau, ac ymdrechion.
- Adeiladu cysylltiadau gyda grwpiau a sefydliadau ieuenctid i hwyluso cyfathrebu â’r Cyngor Tref.
- Dysgu am weithgarwch y Cyngor Tref a’i rol mewn llywodraeth leol.
- Hyrwyddo gwaith Cyngor Tref y Drenewydd a Llanllwchaiarn i bobl ifanc.
- Mae dod yn “Gynrychiolydd Ieuenctid” nid yn unig yn gyfle i gyfrannu at y gymuned ond hefyd yn gyfle i ddysgu am democratiaeth a llywodraeth leol, sy’n gallu gwella llawer ar CV unigolyn.
